Deira (ديرة); officially the Emirate of Deira is one of the six emirates of Andalus. The city is the most populous in both the UAE, and Andalusia, With a population of 10,895,357 and more than 15 million when the suburbs are included.

Deira has emerged as an alpha+ city, with the world's second largest urban agglomeration economy, measured at ₡1.3 trillion at purchasing power parity. In 2012 Deira was ranked as the most expensive city in Andalusia, and the third most expensive in the world. The city has become iconic for its numerous skyscrapers and high rises, and is currently ranked first in the world in terms of number of skyscrapers, with 332 completed or topped out as of 2014.
